A reset button is added to ~re-boot~ the computer system when needed. This may be required after changing the system configuration or in response to a hardware or software ~crash~. The computer then goes through an initial check and configuration of its components. It then starts up just as if it'd just been turned on. Care must be taken not to reset the computer while it is accessing data on a |hard disk| or other drive. This may result in loss of data.
